Tai Tam Tunnel to Tsuen Wan via Sham Tseng

We will meet at the Wing Kut St/Des Voeux Rd bus stop in Sheung Wan to take express bus 968 or 978 to Tai Lam tunnel, which is the start point. Those in Kowloon might want to take the bus from Western Harbour tunnel toll plaza, or meet us at the start point at 8pm. There is a 7-11 at the start point.
The first 20km is most runnable trail, with a couple of short road sections. There are not many streams so please bring enough water.

After 20km we will emerge at Sham Tseng for a 7-11 stop, before heading back uphill for another 18km of mixed trail and road, via Tai Mo Shan kiosk to finish at Tsuen Wan. There are overnight minibuses from the finish point to Mongkok and Wanchai.

Total 38km, option of dropping at Sham Tseng after 20km if you wish (express bus back).

Adequate water, trail shoes and headlamp are mandatory.

We will stop at intersections along the route to keep the group together. In the event of an approaching thunderstorm we may find a shelter point before continuing.
